Lucy's Children Christmas 2023
Donation protected
As 2023 comes to a close, I want to again say thank you for your helping with Lucy's Children last year. We were able to help the children at the Epikouria Association orphanage in Douala, Cameroon. It was a happy day when my mom and my friend Joseph delivered many food gifts and clothes to over 150 children ages two-years-old to 18. This has become a great tradition, and we are now in our fifth year of visiting orphanages and presenting them with much-needed gifts. We could only do this thanks to your generosity.
I am reaching out to you once again this Holiday Season to help me make this Christmas for Lucy’s Children a special one again. Christmas has always been a wonderful time of the year. It is the time to reflect and be grateful for what we have been given. For me, it is the time for giving because I believe we can all do something for someone, no matter how small it is. Every year I want to share my love and my blessings with those who are not lucky enough to have a family.
Similar to our efforts during the holiday season during the last four years, we will be presenting gifts to three orphanages. This year our gifts will go to the Nouvelle Destinee and the Main Charitable orphanages in Douala, Cameroon. Also, we will be presenting donations to the La Bonne Case orphanage in Bertoua, Cameroon. Over 150 children will benefit from your donations. This year I will have the privilege of presenting the gifts at the Bertoua orphanage in person when I’m traveling to Cameroon in January.
I am currently enrolled in nursing school at the University of St. Thomas and during my courses I have learned the importance of promoting healthy lifestyles and helping to avoid the development of diseases as well as preventing the progression of diseases. Similarly, I want to continue to show compassion and reach out to those orphans who need our love and support.
Lucy’s Children is a charity I started from my own personal loss – my older sister Lucie died in 2006. Lucie was a widow with three children when she passed away, leaving her three daughters orphaned. My family was able to take them in and give them the love they needed to grow. Out of that experience, Lucy’s Children was formed to help other orphaned children who need help.
“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”
