Lucy's Everest base camp trek for RNRMC
On the 12th of October my dad and I will be hiking to Everest Base Camp in Nepal to raise money in aid of The Royal Navy and Royal Marines charity. I have chosen this charity because in the three years I have served in the Royal Navy I have seen firsthand the excellent work they do.
The Royal Navy and Royal Marines charity supports over 30 front line charities including: SSAFA which provides welfare and support to those serving in the armed forces, veterans and their families; COMBAT stress supporting veterans and their mental health; Age UK who care for vulnerable elderly people in the Portsmouth area; and ALABARE which supports homeless adults, young people, veterans and those with learning disabilities.
Since 2007 The Royal Navy and Royal Marines charity, in partnership with Greenwich hospital has distributed almost £30,000,000 in grants to its associated charities. The Royal Navy and Royal Marines charity is beneficiary focused with core values of commitment, integrity, inclusiveness and team work and, through these values they aim to provide support for sailors, marines, veterans, reservists and their families throughout their lives.
My trip is self funded and all donations will go directly to the RNRMC.
