Lucy's Wing Walk for South East Dog Rescue
Donation protected
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's just me being both thrilled and terrified to be wing walking over the Kent countryside on 15th Sept 2024. Please help me reach my fundraising target of £500 for South East Dog Rescue.
Since joining Three R's Teacher Recruitment last year, I'd been keen to get involved in their charitable efforts. This year we chose South East Dog Rescue (SEDR) as our chosen non-profit, where we aim to raise awareness, funds and donations for the incredible work they do in helping dogs across the UK.
Why I'm doing it?
For those that know me, you may be surprised given I have always been shy around anything with four or more (or no) legs. The truth is - I never was comfortable around dogs and animals growing up. And as I've gotten older, I've admired the efforts of animal charities and non-profits, seeing first-hand from friends who volunteer at sanctuaries how much heart-aching work is involved. Still, my fears kept blocking me from helping in a way that felt truly hands-on and proactive.
But there are still many ways to show support, and so this wing walk is my attempt at being fearless. If you look up to the skies on 15th Sept at noon, you'll see me stood atop a bi-plane flying through the air in my fundraising efforts to reach £500 for SEDR.
