Luis Clifford Childers' children, Corazon & Felix

Donation protected
Our friend and colleague, Luis Albert Clifford Childers, passed away suddenly in the early morning of February 23, 2023. He would have been 55 on March 7th. Nothing could prepare us for such an unexpected and untimely loss, but those of us who knew him well will forever be grateful for the time we spent with him.

Clifford, to most who knew him, was many things, first and foremost, a devoted Father extraordinaire who wanted to share his unique world perspective with the children he doted on, Corazon (age 14) and Felix (age 10).

He was an avid comber of trombone forums who could flip instruments with the best of them. Though classically trained, Clifford found his true musical voice in Latin music and free-form jazz where he could hold an audience for close to an hour, wherever his musical imagination led him.

His voracious reading and near-perfect recall resulted in his sharing any manner of thoughtful information about any subject he happened to take an interest in. He discovered the harmonica a decade ago which opened up new musical directions to him.

Clifford elevated his love of coffee to an art form that he studied, refined, and would gladly explain to anyone who cared to listen, the intricate details of various methods of brewing it.

Clifford also often remarked that one of the nicest parts of his job at the Judicial Council of California (JCC) was helping his coworkers. He was known as "Luis" at the office. He truly enjoyed the small and thoughtful acts of kindness that helped those around them. His kind and thoughtful gestures are what made him so well-loved and known at the JCC.

Due to the sudden loss of their father, this GoFundMe campaign was created on behalf of Clifford's family to raise money for Corazon and Felix. All proceeds will be put into the children's education fund which will be managed by their aunt and Clifford's sister, Raquel Childers Bowden.
