Luis Miguel Zorrilla Liz life was cut unexpectedly short on May 7th when a fast moving fire tore through the apartment he was staying in on West 190th Street. He was unconscious at the time, and was pronounced brain dead at the hospital.

Luis, who was 20 years old, was an ambitious young man working tirelessly to bring his mother from the Dominican Republic to the United States. He had not seen his mother in years, and would send her as much money as he could every month. Please help us raise money for Luis’ funeral, and to fly him back home to the Dominican Republic, so he can reunite with his mother one last time.

Luis went to George Washington High School and worked hard to get his high school diploma during the pandemic. Then he started working at the 187th Street car wash So Fresh So Clean, during the summertime. He later worked at a factory in New Jersey and would be up by 5 a.m. and wouldn’t get home until 6 p.m. in the evening. Luis was a vibrant individual who was known through the neighborhood as being extremely kind with a light-hearted spirit. He planned on continuing his studies, and dreamed of becoming a mechanic one day.

Luis was a devoted son who did whatever he could to help his family. Please help us give Luis a proper funeral. Any contribution you can make will go a long way in helping his family during this difficult time. Your contribution will help give his mother the time to grieve the sudden passing of her son, instead of worrying about the financial burden.
