Luis needs a wheelchair van and independence!

Hi! im luis im from jacksonville florida im puertorican im 29!!! birthdays literally 4 days away as i type this . i’m a very outgoing person im really friendly love going out to concerts and disney! tho as the years have passed and my condition has been progressed it’s getting really difficult to leave my house im almost always in my room i only go out on big trips maybe 2 times a year. getting this van to me would mean getting my independence back and id use it to go back to school id like to finish an IT program or something with psychology and also id like to have a social life too

Did you know that paratransit services are legally allowed to charge double the fare of a one-way bus fare? Did you know JTA Connexion (the paratransit service in jacksonville florida ) has a one-hour window of time in which they are able to be early/late for pick-up or arrival times? and other services through insurance only allow you 2-3 “ social visits “ as in you’re only allowed to go out 3 times a month. and they have specific time slots too making it basically impossible to have any real life outside of doctors appointments.

After averaging the MSRPs of the current vehicles at BraunAbility, the wheelchair vehicle company I will be purchasing through, I am currently looking at a purchasing price ~$45,000 for a vehicle that will work for my needs. My dream vehicle sits at $52,350 but that is an enormous stretch that I can only entertain in my dreams. I have raised $600 using my available resources and throughout time i can’t really work cause of my limited movement so it’s hard making any money
