Luis Needs Your Support to Heal

As very few people know our current situation, but for over a year now, Luis has been courageously battling Cancer. We chose to keep this journey private, believing it was something to be shared only with close family. I also never wanted to feel like a burden to anyone. However, this process has left me utterly drained, both physically and mentally.

Today, I find myself in a position where I must open up about his fight—because his situation has become more critical and there is no way we can continue to fight this beast alone.

In March 2024, Luis was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive type of lymphoma/leukemia cancer, requiring him to undergo a donor stem cell transplant. This complex and grueling process has led to multiple long hospital stays, each more challenging than the last.

A week ago, last Sunday, Luis suffered a major setback, leading to an emergency surgery. He has been in ICU at the University of Miami Hospital over a week now, facing an uphill battle that will demand intense medical attention and rehabilitation to regain his strength. As part of his recovery, and when he is discharged from ICU, he will need to be admitted to an acute rehabilitation center, followed by 24-hour medical care at home.

This is not a journey I can navigate alone. I need help—to ensure he receives the best care possible and to manage the overwhelming expenses that comes along with it.

This experience has completely shifted our perspective on life. It has shown us that above all else, health and the unwavering love of those who stand by your side are what truly matter.

With faith and God’s good grace, I pray and believe that Luis will conquer this next challenge and continue his fight for life.
