Luis' unexpected challenge - Motorcycle Accident

Hello, My name is Juan Zubiaga.

I am making this gofundme because lastnight me and my family received terrible news that my brother Luis Zubiaga had been in a terrible motorcycle accident, that we would find out in the coming hours would be completely life changing.

Luis was in a single person accident and was the only one involved. He was airlifted to Sarasota Memorials main campus in Sarasota to the trauma unit where was then vented and they performed emergency surgery. They ended up having to amputate Luis' right leg from the knee down. He will remain vented until Monday when they can go back in to make sure everything is clean and do not have to amputate anything more. As of right now, they are saying everything else is ok. Luis is sedated and is unaware of any of this happening.

We are asking for help for Luis' up coming bills, home and mostly medical. In the coming year Luis is going to be going to therapy and learning how to walk again and adapting to his new life. We will need help with medical bills from his initial accident, therapy, any type of prosthetics.

Luis' is a very strong willed person and we have no doubt that this is just another challenge he will demolish.

10/17/23 Hi everyone, before anything else I’d just like to start by expressing my gratitude towards everyone showing love and support for my brother, it truly warms my heart and means a ton. I’m truly grateful for each and everyone of you who donated or if you sent blessings and prayers and even just for the repost, I will forever be so grateful for that, it means the world to me just like my brother does. My brother Luis is doing really well in his recovery and we are making progress to have him home in the next couple of days. To the surprise of many doctors my brother woke up just the day after the accident. To the surprise of many doctors my brother stood up on his leg just yesterday. My brother is already breaking barriers and crushing his challenges like he did on the soccer fields. One thing is for sure together we are stronger and together we will fight through this.
