Lukas' trip to U23 Worlds in Varese, Italy

Myself, along with my crew-mates Marcus Della-Marta, Xavier Hall-Sullivan and Alex Rossi, will be representing Australia in the MB4X, in Varese, Italy, at the U23 World Rowing Championships later this year in July.

This season went quite well for me, remaining consistent with solid results at NSW State Champs and Vic State Champs while also completing a 5:59 2km ergo. I finished off well at Nationals in Nagambie, placing 4th in the U23 Men’s Scull, 2nd in the U23 Men’s Quad Scull, and 1st in the U23 & Open Men’s Eights. I also managed 3rd in the single scull at the Australian Trials Regatta in Canberra.

Under my new coach Alex Field, I am currently rowing out of UTS Rowing Club in Haberfield, Sydney. We’ve been training hard both on land and on the water at Iron Cove as a crew. Our weeks consist of 180-200km of rowing and erging across 12 sessions. We will soon be training in Penrith at a pre-departure training camp alongside the other Australian crews before flying off to Italy on July 11th to acclimatise for two weeks at the AIS European Training Centre.

I’m hoping to execute my fastest possible race come July 30th, and any donations to help me get across the line are greatly appreciated.
