The Luke Lare Memorial Lacrosse Scholarship Fund

Taken too soon but never gone from us. Luke Lare departed life here on earth for eternal life in heaven on Sunday, August 2, 2020 while doing something he truly loved, swimming in the Atlantic Ocean.  Missed and forever held in the hearts of his family and friends, Luke was an authentic young man who believed in things like values, family, and commitment.  He grew into an accomplished outdoorsman and enjoyed many trips hunting and being in the wilderness.  Luke played sports from first grade through high school and never missed one practice or one game in his entire career while always placing the team’s goals ahead of his own. 

Luke’s talents shined the brightest on the Lacrosse field.  He was a 4-year varsity starter for Lower Cape May boys lacrosse and exemplified hard work and selfless dedication, receiving the coveted ‘Coaches Award’ during his Junior and Senior seasons.

Luke’s drive and grit on the Lacrosse field while being completely unselfish, always focused on his teammates' success as well as his own, will stand forever as a testament to his commitment to his friends and the sport he loved.  Luke touched so many, both on and off the field, who will never forget their friendship. Luke was humble and kind always willing to help others.

Forever loved by his father Kevin, his mother Annette and his beloved sister Lindsay, the Luke Lare Memorial Lacrosse Scholarship Fund will continue to keep Luke’s humble fighting spirit connected to the game, hometown, and teammates he loved for years to come.

The Luke Lare Memorial Lacrosse Scholarship Fund will be awarded annually to LCMRHS boys & girls lacrosse seniors who will further their education and/or attend a trade school.
