Luke, Rob and Tom run the Barnsley 10k for BYC

Friends, family, choir members, fans of Tom, we ask of you one thing: to help us raise money for Barnsley Youth Choir and their upcoming tour to South Africa.

We’ve decided to ditch the Piano, Guitar and Choir Conducting for just one day in an attempt to ‘run’ Barnsley 10k race on Sunday 30th June. It will be a big challenge but we are willing to put in the effort to make sure young people in Barnsley can continue to have the world class opportunities and experiences they deserve.

It begins at 9am in Barnsley Town Square, past the town hall all the way down to the chestnut tree roundabout and then 5k uphill back up the way we came, finishing back in the town square. Come and support on the day!

JOINT TRAINING LOG

August 2019 - The last time the three of us ran together was in 2019 in the shadows of the Drakensberg Mountains, when BYC last toured to SA. We met a few horses and other non-lethal wildlife but then Tom went over on his ankle on a rocky hill track. With the vultures beginning to circle, we decided to turn back before we awoke the lions.

August 2022 - Luke and Rob run around Musselburgh most mornings whilst at the Edinburgh Festival with BYC. Tom missed the early wake up calls, claiming to be ‘resting his voice’.

February 2023 - Luke and Rob run through the streets of Dublin most mornings whilst on tour with BYC. Tom missed the early wake up calls, claiming to be suffering from ‘jet lag’.

We can only hope we all appear at the start line on Sunday 30th June…
