Luke Searles memorial fund
Donation protected
I’m Tammie Bachmeier and I used to work with Gordy at REI. As you know, they recently lost Luke at age 20 due to complications from a drowning accident in 2004.
Luke Searles was just 17 months old when he accidentally drowned in the family pool, which caused him to have an anoxic brain injury. During his short life Luke had a number of health issues and needed 24-hour care. He had been hospitalized countless times, along with too many Dr. visits to count. His family has always believed in prayers and the healing powers of the Lord to keep him safe and alive.
Sadly, Luke passed away this past Saturday surrounded by his loving family at the age of 20. For many years his family were his primary care providers, along with some other amazing people to care for him. He continually had expenses for treatments, co-pays, physical accommodations, etc.
Luke’s family would like to give him a proper memorial and burial. They have already incurred a cost of over $13,000 which doesn’t even include all expenses, and this has caused a financial burden. Any donations would be greatly appreciated by the Searles Family and would help alleviate this financial impact. Gordy and Sue are just devastated by the loss of Luke as are his siblings, Daniel, Amy, Natalie, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Lily and the rest of his family.
