Luke Worley’s New Heart Fund

Hi! My name is Amy Powers and I’m raising money for Luke Worley. My family has known Luke since he was less than an year old and his mama, Julie, is one of my best friends.

Luke is a 7 year old normal boy who was essentially born with only half a heart. It’s called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Luke has always had problems with his heart because of this condition,but the problems became much worse in the lastfew months and it was determined that he was in heart failure and needed a new heart immediately to survive. So on December 7th, 2019, Luke got the only Christmas present that he asked for—A BRAND NEW HEART!!!!

As of right now Luke is still in the ICU at Cincinnati Children’s where he is trying to recover and get used to his new heart, which is a very long process. They don’t know how long he will have to stay in the hospital or how his body will react to this new heart. 

Basically this is a very long and very expensive process. Luke will continue to be in the hospital for an unknown amount of time.  He will be on tons of meds for a long time and those meds are very expensive (some costing a few thousand or more each month).
