Lukes brain surgery support

Hi my name is Sarah and I'm fundraising on behalf of my partners brother Luke. Luke is a 30 year old fun loving, passionate family guy. He has also been the sole carer for his mother who suffers with chronic illnesses for over 10 years and helps raise his twin nieces that have been placed in his mothers care since they were a few months old.

 

Luke has been battling chronic illness himself for many years without ever recieving an explanatory diagnosis until a recent MRI revealed a brain tumor. (Acoustic Neuroma, a tumor that grows in the canal connecting the brain to the inner ear.)

 

Luke requires an operation to remove the tumor as soon as possible as the position and size has already left him with profound hearing loss in his left ear and debilitating migranes.

 

Being reliant on government financial services due to the inability to work has left Luke and his family financially vulnerable and the cost of constant medical appointments, specialists and scans have already piled up. The surgery and rehabilitation ahead of him will also be long and costly, a source of great mental anguish while additionally leaving his mother without her primary carer.

 

Any donation you are able to make would be greatly appreciated, with this money we intend to push Lukes surgery through as soon as possible, pay off the running total in medical bills and eventually access rehabilitation services including acupuncture, intensive physiotherapy and pain medications ensuring he has the best chance possible for a productive recovery with minimal future limitations.

 

We are also hoping to be able to give Luke and his mum piece of mind at home during the recovery process by providing some access to home help, transport and meals, making this extremely hard time for the family move forward with as little negative impacts as possible.
