LuLu Loves!

Larkin Street Youth Services is a nonprofit that supports unhoused youth in San Francisco. They provide healthcare, housing, employment, and education for young people in need. Last spring, LuLu Artists Collective partnered with LSYS to host the inaugural LuLu Loves fundraising event and launch a mentorship for young people in the LSYS Art Program.

The LSYS Arts Program provides training, mentorship, creative space, and community engagement that goes beyond addressing the basic needs of survival. The young artists learn new skills and develop healthy, productive ways to process their experiences. We are so inspired by how the Arts Program honors the complexity, beauty, and intelligence of the young people that LSYS works with and recognizes them as fully fledged individuals with a history and a future.

Although this second round of LuLu Loves must happen online and we can’t throw our usual rambunctious community party, we hope you will join us in supporting the LSYS Arts Program. Please help LSYS give their incredible young people the opportunity to dance, design, sing, and compose as they take charge of their lives and develop long-lasting self-sufficiency.
