Lumens art exhibit installation costs
Donation protected
UPDATE: Thanks to the generous donations we received in the first two weeks, Lumens has officially reached our base goal! Now all further donations will be distributed amongst the artists to help cover material costs like lumber, glass, noble gas, and other tech. Thank you for supporting art!
Hey, team. My name is Aerica Raven, and I am an artist curating my first art exhibit, Lumens.
The group behind the Lumens exhibit includes an electrical engineer, a computer programmer, a gaseous chemist, and a painter (that’s me). While I may look like the odd duck in this collective, I share the same passion for research and experimentation as my STEM-minded colleagues. My portfolio is a mix of murals, interactive installations, traditional artwork, and hybrid experiments. Again and again, I have found myself pushing the limits of my craft. However, it was my experience with fellow Lumens artists that brought me to my most rewarding venture: light dynamic painting. Exposure to the knowledge and experience of others helped me grow not only as an artist but as a person. Naturally, I feel compelled to share that experience with you.
Today I have the opportunity to build on my other passion: making artwork as accessible as possible. One of my first goals when planning this show was to ensure anyone could come visit the artworks on display at no cost. Thanks to the generous donation of time, sweat, and personal funds from our contributing artists, we have a lot of truly spectacular work to share with you for absolutely no charge.
However, there is a noticeable cost for hosting this exhibit for several weeks. We could use your help making this exhibit truly spectacular.
Your donation helps us pay for:
- Gallery space rental
- Material cost for the exhibit (paint, cleaning supplies, printing costs, etc)
- Parking cost for our volunteers
- Food/drink for volunteers hosting the exhibit
- Promotional costs (posters, classifieds, etc)
- Beverages to distribute to guests during events nights
- Material reimbursement for artists’ donated supplies
- All the things we forgot we needed to buy. : )
While our base goal is $500, know that all extra donations go directly to our artists and volunteers. Our artists have already invested over six months of hard work, and while we were going to do this anyway, your donation can help us make more and even better works in the future.
