LUNA ARUBA FUNDRAISER
PLEASE HELP LUNA FOUNDATION TO SAVE MORE DOGS IN ARUBA!
MISSION:
This fundraising idea came from local young adult, Julie Chan, who herself has been fostering and adopting dogs her entire life. Julie wanted to make a difference and reached out to offer to help Luna Foundation, which has hit some tough times during the pandemic last year. She has teamed up with Nathalie the owner of sustainable bikini brand Baci Swim and Stacy the founder of island lifestyle brand Dushi Designs, to create this epic fundraiser to help our dogs. All are huge dogs lovers, rescuers and supporters of Luna Foundation and are passionate advocates of animal welfare across the island.
Luna Foundation is currently at full capacity as we can no longer send rescues to the USA for the time being. This has put extreme pressure on us as a foundation this last year so a fundraising campaign like this would alleviate some of this stress meaning we could save more dogs and continue to make a real difference.
Luna Foundation was founded back in 2017 and is a registered charity here on the island and also a 501c3 non-profit in the USA.
We have rescued hundreds of dogs during this time, rehabilitated them and found many of them loving homes in Aruba, the USA and in the Netherlands. Those that are considered "unadoptable" now live out their pension years at our safe haven and receive daily love and care by our team of dedicated volunteers.
We understand that this is only a temporary solution and is really putting a band-aid on the problem so we now have an educational program in place that allows us to teach the younger generation on the importance of animal welfare, spaying and neutering and the basic needs that every dog requires to have a happy and healthy life. The children of Aruba are the ones that will shape the future for our island's animals and this is the key to making a lasting change.
GOALS:
This fundraiser will enable us to complete our animal hospital, set up the animal ambulance service, sterilize many more strays and finish our education center and expand the educational program to reach more children and schools.
Our goal is that this will result in no more strays trying to survive on the streets and no more animal abuse and neglect, then Aruba can truly be One Happy Island for all its citizens, including the four-legged ones.
