On the 3rd of July I will be taking part in running the gold coast marathon in the hopes to raise money for the Luna Capri Foundation, for LUNATHON.
The Matenga family's lives were turned upside down after Luna's life was tragically lost on the 23rd of December 2020, 2 days after she was hit by a car, unfortunately succumbing to her injuries.

In loving memory of Luna Capri Matenga, her parents Jessica Feeny and Timi Matenga have so selflessly created the Luna Capri Foundation in her honour. The Luna Capri Foundation is a multidimensional foundation that aims to create a positive empowerment framework that will be rolled out throughout daycares and early primary school, education facilities. This framework reflects Luna's Mantra, and the importance of building confident, resilient children from an early age.

A grief, loss and trauma framework will also be devised for children to help them navigate their emotions and normalise this sector within schools. Additionally, there will be a grief and celebration of life packages that are donated to ICU/ER departments for families to be given the best opportunity to celebrate the life of their child, just as they did.
The logistics and frameworks of this organisation are still in the process and
so many of us felt the impact of this tragedy, whether you knew the family personally or are complete strangers. I felt called to do this for them, to help bring this foundation and framework to fruition to help support those in future if ever faced with the unthinkable circumstances this family has endured.
A marathon for a family that has lost so much, and still, so selflessly, has everything to give. Together, we can bring the Luna Capri Foundation to life!
