Help Luna Beat the Odds and Have A Normal Life!

Donation protected
Hi there! I’m Luna Fenner. Thank you for visiting my page. I was born with a condition called congenital melanotic nevus, which affects only 1.5% of the world's population. This rare disease has presented many challenges for me, but with your support, I can overcome them and live the life every child deserves.

However, my condition isn’t just a cosmetic concern. It brings with it a serious risk of developing melanoma, a severe type of skin cancer. Indeed, doctors have already found three tumors that need urgent removal to keep me safe.

The Struggle Beyond the Skin

Growing up with a visible difference isn’t easy. I've faced whispers, stares, and cruel comments from others.

Children have called me hurtful names, and I’ve been told I don’t deserve to be here because of how I look. It’s hard, but my spirit remains strong.

Despite these challenges, my dream is simple: I want to lead a normal, happy life, just like any other child.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for Nevus, but there is hope through surgery.

A Journey of Healing Begins

With the best doctors guiding us, my family decided to start my surgical treatments early, leveraging the faster healing abilities of young skin.

My initial treatments began in Russia in October 2019, where we found a promising, less aggressive treatment method.

Thanks to generous donors like you, we managed to cover $70,000 of expenses, completing over 50% of the Nevus removal.

However, in January 2022, our plans were disrupted by the Russian war, forcing us to return to the U.S.

In April 2024, we returned to Russia to continue my treatment journey, focused on completing the nevus removal and addressing the scars that affect my facial movements and my ability to close one eye fully during sleep.

Looking to the Future

I am scheduled for four more surgeries in the next 2 years, each costing about $25,000.

Here’s a breakdown of the expenses:

  • $11,000 for medical costs, including hospital stay, anesthesia, and surgery with Dr. Olga from @nevus_net.
  • $6,000 for roundtrip flights for my mom, dad, and me between the U.S., Turkey, and Russia.
  • $4,000 for accommodations during our 3-month stay for each surgery.
  • $3,000 for food expenses.
  • $1,700 for local transportation, internet, and phone.
  • $300 for my post-surgery medications and vitamins.

Our next steps in this journey are crucial.

Your support will not just fund my surgeries but also give me the chance to live a life free from physical and emotional pain.
