Luna's TPLO Surgery (ACL)
Hey Everyone,
We have been given the very unfortunate news that Luna, my loving 2 year old Pitbull has recently torn both of her ACLs in her two back legs. As many know, Luna is extremely active and relatively young for this sort of injury to occur. Ontop of both of her torn ACLs, Luna also has chronic arthritic build up in both knees. Both injuries have caused Luna much pain and discomfort, fully deteriorating her usual enthusiastic spirit.
In order to fix these issues, we must move forward with the TPLO surgery (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy). This surgery basically changes the dynamic of the knee so that the torn ligament becomes irrelevant to the stability of the knee itself. This surgery is very pricey even when it has to be done on just one knee let-alone both rear knees ($2,500-$4,000 per knee). The rehabilitation process will be doubled in length due to both knees being affected, leaving Luna unable to get up and move freely throughout the process. After-care and rehabilitation will also serve as a hefty expense.
With that being said, any contribution would truly benefit Luna's health and rehabilition process while she under-goes surgery for such an unsuspecting and traumatic injury.
I pledge to donate any excess funds to the ASPCA.
