Lunch for Sharp ICU & ER Staff
Donation protected
Six years ago, my husband was 34 and could have lost his leg or his life. Sharp Chula Vista ER and ICU staff saved his leg and his life. Because of them, my husband was able to make it to his 40th birthday, and see our only daughter turn 12.
There are so many stories in our community like ours. So many lives saved. So many families kept whole. And while there are many others that had family members that didn't stay with us, that didn't make it home, I know they did the absolute best they could every single day, because that's what they do.
Our nurses don't just rise up during a pandemic, they rise up every day, year after year. They were there for him on a random Wednesday morning, and saved his life. I still don't know how they do it every day, how they rise to the occasion everyday. So I'd like for us to rise up for them. I'm coordinating a small token of appreciation to the Sharp Chula Vista ER, ICU and hospital cleaning staff. There's 165 individuals in those three departments any given day on any one shift. My goal is to provide lunch for one of those shifts on one of those random days when those individuals show up to save lives. If we can hit over our goal, we can treat more staff on more shifts, on more days.
They're out there not only taking care of COVID patients, but all of the people like my husband that went from a bronchitis diagnosis to almost dying in a matter of days. They're there for us no matter the day or the year we're in need, let's be there for them.
A donation in any amount is appreciated. Many hands make light work.
