Lundon Williams Trophy 2022
Donation protected
After the success of our first year the Lundon Williams Trophy in which we raised a massive £7,350, we are back and hoping to continue were we left off. The support we had from everyone last year was amazing, whether that was in donations, sharing our social media posts, or turning up on the day to support all the players, managers and maybe our referees.
With the money raised last year we have been able to assist Michael and his family with the huge fight that they undertake everyday with Michael’s battle against Motor Neurone Disease.
With the money for Ben’s side, we have purchased two portable defibrillators and donated these to Gary Hearns at Neston Nomads and to Chris Anderson at AFC Liverpool.
On Saturday 16th July 2022, we will be going again. The teams, Aigburth Peoples Hall FC (APH), Follow Your Heart FC, Old Xaverians FC and Waterloo Dock FC will battle it out for the trophy.
Last year Old Xaverians were victorious against Waterloo Dock in the final after scoring a last gasp penalty to take the score to 2-2 and then went on to win on penalties.
This year we are launching the GoFundMe page to again raise money for the two legends named on our trophy. These two lads have made a massive impact on the amateur football scene in Liverpool over the past 20–30 years. Two lads that were great players on the pitch and great gentleman off it.
We have coined our motto as this:
Michael’s fight – Ben’s legacy.
This describes us perfectly in every way.
This is our aim and to achieve this we need everyone’s help, so if you can give, please do. These two lads left everything on the pitch when they played and now, we would like to thank them for that.
