My dear childhood friend, La Quisha Coleman, had a huge shift in her life in the month of October: being diagnosed with lung cancer during a TB X-Ray for her job as an Acute Dialysis Tech. Her world quickly spun upside-down, after being told the surgery needed to happen within 1 month. This would mean suddenly having to go on disability from work, chemotherapy for 1 week, and several doctor visits leading up to the surgery. The doctors ended up performing her surgery on November 18th, removing a large portion of her right lung. The great news is they removed all of the cancer! She is currently recovering in Southern Hills, keeping a very healthy attitude while she gains the strength to breathe through pain and discomfort.

What is still looming are the medical bills piling up. Even with her health insurance, she is still unable to cover all of her medical bills in addition to her personal bills that disability just doesn't cover.

I have known her for 27 years, and I've never seen her show any weakness. She has always been a strong person inside and out. She is the mother to my goddaughter, Autumn, and a best friend to me and my family. Anything you can immediately contribute will help her focus on her healing and being able to simply breathe, rather worrying how she can make ends meet while not being allowed to work until late next year.
