Lung Cancer Support Group

Hello,

We are the Lung Cancer and Mesothelioma Support Group.

Our Team is based at the James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth. Our group is made up of 4 Respiratory/Oncology Support Nurses; Emma Schofield, Emily Manning, Gordon Perry and Laura Spall, alongside the Nurses, we have Gina Carter, Lynsey Finch, Jodie Price and Shae Maryon as part of the Administrative Team.

We are a voluntary group for patients, their families and carers who have had a diagnosis of lung cancer or mesothelioma. We support patients who are currently being treated and also, those patients who have completed treatment. Our team provides an informal and relaxed environment which is non-clinical for individuals to connect with others who are in similar situations. This helps to reduce the mental and emotional impact of a diagnosis. We know that participating in support groups can help reduce social isolation and it provides encouragement to those affected by cancer.

As a team, we will be undertaking a 10 Mile Cliff Top Hike. The money that we will raise from this fundraiser will help the team to continue supporting patients with day trips, meals, peer support sessions and quarterly get togethers.
