Lupton Family Home Fire Recovery
Richard, Martha, and Ricky Lupton recently suffered a devastating home fire. Thankfully, they made it out safely, but as you can tell from the pictures, their home is in total ruin. Our family is working with Richard and Martha (my grandparents) to get the house rebuilt, but it will take time, energy, and additional costs beyond what insurance will cover.
- Update - the Lupton’s will be staying in Virginia Beach with us for the foreseeable future and likely not rebuilding.
Our goal is to make the home once again ADA compliant so Ricky, with cerebral palsy and confined to a wheelchair, can live in comfort.
If you know Richard and Martha, you know they ask for little in life and truthfully, they are probably shaking their heads that I’m even setting up this drive. But you also know these two people have deeply impacted many lives, and our family wants to show them gratitude for who they are and all they have done.
Please give if you can, and please, if you’re led, drop a word of encouragement I can share with Richard and Martha. Thank you for helping me remind them, at this time when it’s difficult for them to see, that there is indeed light in the darkness.
