The Lupton Family
On Tuesday the 29th of October, while at Coffee Morning at The 3 Daggers Pub in Edington, a small village in the UK, Geoff Lupton collapsed with stomach pain and was rushed to the Royal University Hospital in Bath. Shortly after his arrival at the hospital, he passed away with an abdominal aortic aneurysm.
This sudden passing came as a shock to all who knew him in Edington, but even more so, to his daughter Jess and his son, Daniel and his wife, Sharlene and their kids, Lilly, Violet, Sage and their newborn, Rose.
Geoff was already packed and ready to leave for his return visit to see Daniel, Shar and the kids, including his newest grand baby, Rose Lupton in California on November 12th. The passing of Geoff has been overwhelming to not only his local community and village, but the village that adopted him in the U.S. through his relationship with Daniel (my brother-in-law) Shar and all our friends who quickly saw that he was an exceptional human being and felt more like family than simply a friend.
Geoff made an impact everywhere he went, and his absence is overwhelming. He left behind a beautiful community of friends in his village in Edington, including his beloved pup, Oliver, who is currently being fostered by a loving family.
Additionally, as a loving environmentalist, he wanted to to do his part to help steward the earth by nurturing its ecosystem through tending to bees. He left behind multiple hives that need maintenance, that help sustain the local agriculture. Daniel, Sharlene and their children have endeavored to continue his work, and will need funding in the short and long term to see this work through.
The timing of Geoff’s passing coincides with a financially lean season as Daniel has been on a leave from work to bond with the new baby Sharlene recently had. In addition to baby bonding time, Daniel is currently recovering from the first of two vocal cord surgeries that took place a few days before his dad’s untimely passing. He is scheduled for his second procedure in a few weeks.
While the outpouring of love and support through letters, cards, phone calls and texts have been overwhelming and appreciated to comfort hearts in this time, the financial stress and uncertainty is weighing heavily on the family. Though money cannot replace this tragic loss, the funds raised in this campaign will help cover funeral expenses, travel expenses, the celebration of Geoff’s life, and helping sustain the work he began in the village and beyond. We are hoping this campaign helps The Lupton’s in the short term and also becomes seeds that can be planted for the future.
The phrase that comes to mind, “It takes a village...” and this is one of those times where one simply cannot go this journey alone, and any amount contributed great or greater still will contribute to the sustaining of a legacy Geoff Lupton left behind.
Rest In Peace Geoff ❤️
