Lusaka Animal Welfare Society (LAWS)

Hello, fellow animal lovers! My name is Sheila O., and I am the Vice Chair of the Lusaka Animal Welfare Society (LAWS). Located in the heart of Lusaka, Zambia, LAWS has been providing shelter to over 100 animals at any given time for over 27 years. As Lusaka is one of the fastest-growing cities in the region, there has been a parallel increase in the number of abandoned animals.

In response to this growing issue, we have created this fundraiser in a desperate effort to raise funds to continue our efforts to help the ever-increasing population of stray and abused animals in our city.

LAWS has been working with local authorities and is formally recognized for its instrumental role in providing assistance in rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing the many animals that are suffering and have no place to call home in the city.

We are a volunteer-run shelter, dependent solely on community charity, with no monetary assistance from the state. We have 10 dedicated full-time staff members and an ever-increasing monthly budget to keep the animals fed with the right nutritional food, provide medical care, housing and rehabilitation, re-homing services through Facebook, Instagram, and local advertising agency engagement, and staff support.

In light of all our current challenges, we are reaching out to you to help us in raising much-needed funds to ensure the continued support we can provide for the many neglected, abandoned, and lost animals.
