Luv-A-Filipina Nurse Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
For several years now, Dusty Roberts of Luv-A-Rug Services Inc. has helped support a hardworking yet financially struggling family in the Philippines. The mother has several children she is raising on her own, one of which is disabled and requires a wheelchair.
Francine and her family
If you know anything about the Philippines, then you'd know that the country is not exactly wheelchair friendly. Yet despite the hardships they endure, all the children are straight-A students with the oldest daughter wanting to become a nurse.
Over the past several years, Dusty and this wonderful Filipina family have become so close that Dusty now considers them part of his own family. He is dedicated to helping them grow and prosper so they can stand on their own and support themselves in ways that cannot be done given the current living standards most people are currently living under in the Philippines.
This scholarship fund is set up to bring the oldest daughter into Canada and have her study here to become a nurse. Once she graduates and is employed, she'll be able to support her family in a way that is currently impossible.

UPDATE as of May 26/3023!
Francine has already started to get actual work experience in a local hospital. To get this opportunity, the family has to pay 340 Philippine pesos every day for ten days (the equivalent of an entire day's wages for Francine’s mother).
This kind of experience for an impoverished family would otherwise be impossible to afford, so your donations are helping to fulfill Francine’s dream of being a nurse and pulling her family out of poverty.
