Lydia Masi Ciminelli, godmother of Lisa A. Masi
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lisa A. Masi. I am holding a fundraiser for my 72-year-old godmother, Lydia Masi Ciminelli's memorial, who on Monday at 9:30 a.m was crossing Rosevale Avenue in Ronkonkoma, NY, after exiting her bus on her way to exercise class at the Senior Center in Ronkonkoma and was struck down and killed by a hit-and-run driver who fled the scene. She was pronounced dead shortly thereafter after being taken to Stony Brook Hospital. I own a 3-plot grave, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Coram, NY where I recently buried her brother, Donald Masi, my father, who died of brain cancer. I am attempting to raise money for her cremation and the headstone and the completion of his burial. Anyone that is compelled to help and/or donate please feel free to do so.
The homicide detectives in Yaphank have taken over my aunt's case.
We have spoken to an attorney and need to raise money to prosecute the perpetrator.
We are heartbroken due to what happened to Lydia and our family will miss her and be forever changed.
Lydia leaves behind her 3 brothers, Charlie, Lawrence, Joseph, and 2 sisters, Kathleen and Joannie, and niece, Lisa, and nephews, Don and John.
Thank you.
Very truly yours,
Her niece, Lisa A. Masi

"A 72-year-old woman who was killed Monday by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a street in Ronkonkoma was heading to an exercise class, according to a sister-in-law.
Going to the class was something Lydia Ciminelli would regularly do, her sister-in-law Fran Masi, of Central Islip, said the day after the hit-and run.
“It’s just a horrible way to go. I mean, she was youthful. She shouldn’t have died that way. I just can’t imagine what had happened,” Masi said Tuesday in an interview, lamenting both the driver’s callousness in leaving Ciminelli behind and the conditions of the road where she was struck.
“She was just going to take an exercise class,” Masi said.
Ciminelli, of Lake Ronkonkoma, was crossing Rosevale Avenue south of Motor Parkway when she was struck and killed, according to a news release from the Suffolk County Police Department."
