Lydia Rabang

Our beloved grandmother, Lydia Rabang (known to many as, Nanay), peacefully passed away on January 2, 2023. She was surrounded by family and friends in her home in Manila, Philippines. She leaves behind 5 daughters, 3 son-in-laws, 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and many relatives and friends. She had the kindest and purest heart. As a matriarch of the family, she provided and raised her children and grandchildren. She also touched the lives of so many people as a friend and a teacher of almost 40 years. Nanay will be deeply missed.

She was recently in the hospital for 6 weeks due to complications from a fall. Our family flew from Europe and USA to care for her during this time and paid over 2 million pesos in hospital fees. The financial burden of her hospital stay, the funeral costs, and the cost of traveling back to Philippines in such short notice has been overwhelming for the entire family.

We would like to give Nanay the memorial she deserves, to celebrate her life and say our final goodbyes. I am currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Nanay’s funeral. We would like to raise $4,500 by January 10th to help pay the cost for her funeral service and to carry out her plans for cremation.

Please consider donating if you are able to do so. We are very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.

Sincerely,
Alvin Aquino and family
