Lydia Theresa Simon Hayes

Hi, my name is Bernadine Simon Hill, Lydia's baby sister, as she used to call me.

Lydia Theresa Simon Hayes passed on April 25, 2024. After working many years as a Care Giver, she found herself needing help. Lydia survived a heart attack in Aug. 2023. Her kids were crucial in helping her recover, but during the recovery period, she then received the news that she would need a leg amputation. The mother of 5 and grandmother of 5 was expected to fully recover. We were all expecting her to come home and was totally caught off guard when we received the news that her heart just couldn't take it. She had passed only a few days after the surgery.

As you can imagine, the kids are devastated as they have now lost their mother and their father within a few years of each other. We are trying to help support her 5 kids and 5 grandkids to help them during this time as well as cover their newly created expenses.

She was known and loved by many and has brought countless joy to many people in her 69 years on this earth, helping all who she could along the way. She will be missed by her community, her prayer partners, her bingo partners, her dance partners, her sports partners, and all who knew and loved her.
