Lydia is a violinist in the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. At 2am on August 22nd, Flash floods covered the Fair Park neighborhood in Dallas, water levels rising very suddenly.
Lydia was reading in bed when she noticed water pouring in under the door of her loft apartment in the Dallas Fair Park neighborhood. Water covered the parking lot outside her loft, 5 feet deep, and all the cars were floating. The door wouldn't open from the force of the water; Lydia grabbed her violin and escaped out the window into the water. She swam/floated over to a car and climbed onto the hood while calling for help. Some neighbors helped her climb into their window and unto the second floor of their loft after she threw the violin to them first.
Lydia lost her home, most of her belongings, and car in one night and she doesn't have flood coverage on her insurance. The water level in the loft was 4 feet high and ruined almost everything. Please consider donating to help Lydia replace her lost belongings and put her life back together. Anything and everything is greatly appreciated!
