Lynda Masi's Healing Journey & New Normal
Donation protected
This is Lynda Masi. She is a sister, mother, grandmother, and a dear friend to many. At 75 years old, Lynda was still working as a hairdresser (refusing to stop working because she loves her clients and independence), going dancing with friends, attending the local trivia night, being in church every Sunday, mowing her lawn, and visiting her family. She was — and still is — a strong woman in every sense.
Lynda was unexpectedly forced from her home that she planned to live in forever. Lynda began to pack up her things when she could while working full-time. During her move, she fell down a flight of stairs and broke her neck. She had nearly severed her spinal cord at the 6th vertebra. The break was so bad that they had to reattach her head to her body with two titanium rods and 12 pins.
Lynda's injury was so severe that she was transported to a trauma center for emergency surgery. When Lynda came to, she was surrounded by her best friend who rescued her, her daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. They had just been given the news that Lynda is struggling to survive and is now paralyzed from the chest down.
They were all in shock.
In addition to this tragedy, while fighting for her life in the ICU, Lynda's home was broken into and her car was vandalized requiring a new engine and extensive bodywork. In many ways, her life would never be the same.
She is currently in a long-term hospital fighting to get off of life-support. Every day, the bills add up, and there's still such a long road ahead.
What we are asking you is to donate, anything you can, to help Lynda through this time and the long journey to come. She is in desperate need of the following:
- medical bill expenses
- continued medical assistance
- specialized medical equipment
- specialized care
- daily nursing/medical care
- mobility equipment
- disability-friendly transportation
- medications
The list goes on and on...
Whether it's $5 or $1,000 — we thank you in advance for hearing Lynda's story, praying for us, and giving what you can. We cannot be more grateful for the love and support that's been given to Lynda and to our family.
God bless.
