Lynn Valley Victims
LET'S HELP THE VICTIMS OF THE LYNN VALLEY TRAGEDY
On March 27, 2021 the beautiful community of Lynn Valley in North Vancouver suffered a terrible tragedy.
Seven people were stabbed by a man in a random attack. The man then stabbed himself before police were able to take him into custody.
The victims of this crime were our neighbours, friends, teachers. Brave bystanders jumped into help at their own, personal, peril and were injured in the process.
Our incredible first responders were on the scene in minutes. Local shops and restaurant staff moved quickly to provide safe haven for others in the area.
The community of Lynn Valley is small in population but huge in heart and soul.
The victims of this crime will need physical, mental and emotional support for quite some time. While Victim's Services of BC is wonderful at providing help there is often a long delay in getting funding for those services.
Many people have been looking for a way to help so we have created this gofundme to provide that. This campaign will be governed by a committee made up of representatives from all of the victims' families and by The North Van Cares Foundation.
Updates will be posted as they become available. Thank you for your continued support of the community of Lynn Valley and of North Vancouver. We are all one.
"We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibres connect us with our fellow men." – Herman Melville
Any donation over $300 will receive a North Van Cares Pillow.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS:
This gofundme campaign has been organized by the North Van Cares Foundation. Founder, Jacquie McCarnan. North Vancouver, BC.
North Van Cares is an incorporated non-profit working for the benefit of all of the victims of the Lynn Valley tragedy. All victims will have a representative on the dispersement committee. We have contacted 3 of the victims families so far and have asked the RCMP to connect the others with us as soon as they are feeling up to it. A committee of victims families plus a representative from North Van Cares will all be involved in the dispersement of funds to ensure it is fair and equitable.
Donation will be spent on whatever each, individual, victim requires. Be it physical therapy, psycho-therapy, special equipment to help with their recovery or whatever else they may need. Each victim will have their share to do with as they see fit.
Recipients will be permitted to request funds as they need them. An accounting professional will be keeping track of all dispersements. Each member of the committee will be informed regarding any delivery of payment.
