Lytton Fire Victim - Daniel & his dog Jack
Lytton Fire Survivors - Daniel & Jack
This is Daniel and his dog Jack, they are survivors of the Lytton fire.
Daniel was a care taker of a ranch in Lytton. Yesterday Daniel was cutting hay when the air changed and all became still, he felt strange and stopped working and went back to the ranch, not knowing about the fires. When he stepped inside his house, bails of hay nearby caught on fire causing the house to burst into flames. He ran outside and watched his house explode three times, he lost all his kittens, cats and chickens. At that moment he heard the ranch horses and cattle screaming for their lives, he ran out to save them, but the paddocks were surrounded by flames, all the animals perished. He sustained first and third degree burns trying to do so, but his dog Jack showed up out of nowhere at that moment.
Daniel ran to another house, upon arriving diesel tanks blew up causing a massive explosion, surrounded by fire on all sides he grabbed a John Deere tractor to escape. The tractor, Daniel’s hair and jacket caught on fire, he abandoned it and went into a stream. Daniel waited for 2 hours submerged in the stream waiting for help, but knowing they were about to die, he headed out onto the road and tried to walk out the Botaine Valley.
Electricity poles were falling around him throwing sparks, fire meteorites and fire rain surrounded him, after 6 hours he walked out of the valley alive with his dog! ❤️
Daniel lost everything he owned and his livelihood. It takes a community to make heroes, but in this case, it will take a community to bring another one back on its feet.
