Continuing the Miracles on the Hill

Miracle Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a 120 bed skilled nursing facility in Tallahassee, Florida.  Miracle Hill works hard to provide quality care and quality of life for residents.  Approximately 85 to 90 percent of residents are Medicaid recipients and have limited resources  to meet the continuous personal needs that occur during their stay in the facility.  Many residents come to the facility without having a needed wheelchair or recliner Geri-chair that is appropriate when assessed.   Being a non-profit facility, Miracle Hill has limited funds to address these needs and many times the responsible party or family member is unable to purchase.
Miracle Hill also has needs of enhancing its ability to address the psychosocial and mental well being of each resident.  The facility recently converted its previous therapy rooms int activity day rooms to provide a calm and pleasant environment for residents who have diagnosis of dementia and may have behavioral symptoms that need to be addressed.  We would like to create an environment with furnishings and activity materials such MP3 players, dementia kits, television and cable and other materials designed to provide stimulation for our residents.
Miracle Hill also has  a short term rehab wing designed for residents who are here for therapy services before going back out in the community.   The rooms on this wing are mostly semi-private.  We would like to make the stay of these residents a more pleasant an enjoyable one by being able to provide personal Televisions for each resident, telephones in rooms and  recliner chairs for their sitting pleasure.  Miracle Hill  also would like to provide remote controls for  all residents of the facility, for television that are connected to each bed .
