Hi all,

My name is Joy Larsen and I am the head coach of Valencia Academy Seattle boys 2010/11 team! We are a club located in Seattle, Washington, directly partnered with Valencia CF, a club that competes in La Liga, the highest professional level in Spain. Each year, our Valencia Academy teams have the opportunity to travel to Valencia and work closely with the VCF Academy coaches for a week filled with high-intensity training, tests, friendlies, and team building. This is a unique opportunity that allows players to be trained and observed by high-level coaches. During our trip to Valencia, Spain, players also have a chance to grow their development and confidence, and the trip empowers them to be better players and people.

This is a valuable and necessary stage in their growth as soccer players and people. We do not want any of our players to miss out, especially those faced with financial needs. It is our goal to provide full scholarships for those who need it and offset some expenses covered by families. The money we raise through this goes directly to travel needs which include:

"The training stage in Valencia is a great way for players to grow and develop in the 10-day period. I was blessed to be able to train with the goalkeeper coach for their B team. They will give you individual advice on what you need to work on to become the best player you can be. You also get to have friendly matches against local academies which is a great way to see Spanish-style soccer. But soccer aside, you get to go on great tours around Valencia and build special bonds with your teammates and opponents!
