Gail's Birthday Fundraiser

Many folks don’t even make it to 81 much less in an upright and ambulatory condition. Me? I continue in my bat-shit crazy life of 24/7 work in husky rescue. For my 81st birthday this week, I am asking for donations to help the sentient beings who make my life exciting, challenging, busy and worth living. Norsled is a 501c3 rescue organization whose work has saved and rehabbed thousands of huskies, malamutes and mixes over the past 25 years. I have been privileged to be a part of this group and help it grow into the strong, independent and ethical group we are.

A specific dog Zara is top of my list at the moment. She came into the shelter not having eaten and continued to turn up her nose at any food. She deteriorated to 32 pounds when I pulled her (she should be about 55). Took her to vets for a week, had so many tests run and no reason for her lethargy and distaste for food. Serious diarrhea and throwing up!! An ultra sound revealed inflammatory bowel; blood tests also showed some troubling results. She has had some treatment, is on special food and medications but still needs help. So far we have spent at least $6000 on trying to help this girl. We want to make her entirely well so are working on figuring out her overall medical situation. So I want to show Zara (who is very bonded to me) that we love her!! I am asking for donations of $8100 to help defray her vetting and help other dogs as well.
