Support Christine Thorn-Fischer!

Hi!

As many of you may know, our lovely Christine was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and it has quickly progressed to stage 4.

Christine is the best person we know, and if you know her, you know she’s the sweetest human alive. She devotes herself to the betterment of those around her. She shows endless and unconditional love to her family and friends. She works tirelessly to ensure that her students receive a quality education and know her love.

As a current 4th grade teacher at U Prep Steele in Denver, Christine’s devotion to education continues to shine through daily. Despite her diagnosis and personal struggles, she has committed to continue supporting her students and U Prep Family.

In addition to her passion for education, Christine loves spending time in nature hiking and skiing, doting on her nieces and nephews, and getting highly competitive about board games.

Things with her treatment are moment to moment but she’s done an incredible job at allowing her emotions to come and go—accepting the good and bad but always keeping an undercurrent of optimism- per usual Christine has been the first to laugh and smile amidst the negative emotions and heavy news.

As difficult as this has been for Christine, it’s been equally heartbreaking for her loving husband, Reed—who Christine always refers to as her rock. Reed and Christine got married in October of 2021 at a beautiful location in Palmer Lake, Colorado.

We created this Gofundme in honor of the deep love we share for both of these special humans. We know we can’t take the pain away—but with your support, we can hopefully make this time a little easier for Christine and Reed.

As we all know, medical expenses can become debilitating so here are the specific areas of support we are fundraising for:

- Helping Christine & Reed pursue their dream of becoming parents through surrogacy as Christine's medication prevents natural pregnancy.

⁃ Offsetting costs not covered by insurance and/or incurred before hitting Christine’s deductible

⁃ Medications that support treatment

⁃ Loss in wages

⁃ Potential relocation and travel expenses if they decide to seek the best treatment available

⁃ General increase in spending as a result of Christine’s diagnosis
