If this time in history wasn't hard enough, my good friend, Aaron Law, has been met with some excruciating tragedy and hardship. Since transitioning from active duty to the reserves, LCDR Aaron Law has continued to pursue a career in aviation by working as a flight instructor at Epix Aviation in Chesapeake, VA. With at least six months of flight instructing left before he can apply for airline jobs, he is racing against the clock before his savings run dry while he supports his family. Aaron had already nearly depleted his life savings and investments to pay for the necessary flight schooling to prepare him and his family for this major life and career change. When the COVID-19 pandemic fully gripped the nation, it effectively shut down the aviation industry, eliminating his primary source of income as a flight instructor while leaving future prospects of airline employment in limbo or postponed, at best. Since then, Aaron still did what he needed to do to financially support the ones who depended on him, while making many sacrifices himself. This perfect storm has left Aaron in a critical financial situation.
Then the unimaginable happened! As if things couldn't get worse, Andrina, the mother of his three young children (Andrew, 12, Niah, 10, and Rachel, 7) tragically passed away. Although Aaron and Andrina had recently separated, there was no question that he wanted to provide a meaningful and memorable service to honor her memory and help provide closure for their children as they mourn her loss. Andrina’s funeral was held on Sunday, May 31, 2020 in Virginia Beach, VA where she and Aaron shared the last 10 years of their lives together. Aaron and his children laid their mother to rest on Monday, June 1st. While the costs of even the most modest of funeral arrangements can be expensive, they can be devastating to anyone not prepared for such an event. Andrina’s memorial service cost in excess of $10,000!
Aaron has dedicated himself to a life of service and being a good Christian. He's always done what was needed to place others first, often forsaking himself. I know this is a time of sacrifice and hardship for many of us, but please consider assisting this deserving young father with the financial burden this tragedy has placed upon him and his dear family. Thank you.
