Let’s support Lynn Nachtwey and her family! Long time area residents and owners of the Kynrede Café in Hayden, ID!!
A few months ago, Lynn started to have problems with her vision, fatigue, etc. After appointments and testing with several local doctors, an MRI showed that Lynn had a brain tumor. Due to its location (behind her left eye) and the complexity of the surgery, she was referred to the Chief Neurosurgeon at University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.
Within hours of the final diagnosis, Lynn was sent to Seattle on January 11th for further extensive testing and surgery was performed on January 15th, removing the tumor during a 6 hour surgery. Thankfully, the doctors were able to remove the tumor through her nose; however, stints were inserted in her nose as well as a drain from her spine to relieve the pressure on the incision.
A recovery time of 7-10 days was expected, however complications developed after 1 week and another surgery was performed on January 22nd. This surgery went well, but extra caution is being taken due to earlier complications.
Lynn is still recovering in Seattle at the University of Washington Medical Center and it is not yet known when she will be able to come home. Recovery will require that she make several trips to Seattle for check-ups and more surgeries if needed.
The family remains with her; however, their being away from home has forced them to temporarily close their restaurant, the Kynrede Café in Hayden, ID.
Can you help?? Family and extended family are looking for donations to help Lynn and her husband Jesse through this time to pay for medical expenses, cost of travel, extended stays in Seattle, and loss of income due to the restaurant closure. A benefit is also being planned at a later date.
Thank you for supporting Lynn!
