Bail fund for Queer, Indigenous BLM Activist
Donation protected
Can you help with the bail fund and legal expenses of Jesse, in custody since 9/29/21, for charges related to demonstrations directly following the death of George Floyd?
Jesse is a graduate of the Rachel Carson Environmental Studies Progam in Eugene, and is currently working with local environmental organizations. Jesse is participating in training to become a wildland firefighter on an all-Indigenous team, to employ Native burning practices. Jesse is a Chinook tribal member, active in language revitalization, and traditional ecology.
We are extremely concerned for Jesse’s safety and well-being while in custody, and welcome funds to free Jesse, and to return them to their life and responsibilities.
Our young people demonstrated against police violence on our behalf. They helped create awareness and a new vocabulary for change. Let’s support them now, to try to go forward in life with a clean record.
