Help My Dad Live

Donativo protegido
Hello, I am trying to raise money to save my dad’s life: He needs a kidney transplant.

Organ transplant or a serious ailment of its equivalence was not something I ever saw coming when it came to my parents, especially my father. He’s full of life, a public servant who is pretty content with his life.

I am quite accustomed to challenges and I have learnt to tackle them head-on because I learnt resilience and strong willed determination from my parents.

However, my father’s unwelcome and sudden illness came with the ultimate challenge that has shaken me to my roots. This has taken an unexpected toll on my business, our mental state and well-being. A vast part of our personal lives have become obliterated because we live in fear of what might happen next—the next terrible news that will have us running from pillar to post.

At first, I thought it was something we could handle within the family. It’s been 1 year and 6 months of dialysis, tests, scans, drugs and a lot of pain. This is by far the saddest thing my family has ever gone through and on some days, we don’t have the strength to carry on. My dad is now 57 and with your help, we can still have a lot of good years ahead of him.

“Is your dad an athlete” is something I’ve heard so many times. He takes his health seriously. He would wake up as early as 5am and jog. And as a first child, I always thought that my parents’ health was something I’d not need to worry about especially since they are in their 50s

The photo included in the main profile was one I took of him few weeks before the diagnosis. I had called him to hangout so we went to the movies and got Ice Cream later. I looked at the picture and said to myself “daddy is aging a little too fast” little did I know what was coming.

Seeing him helpless and unable to go about his daily activities and do the things he loves breaks my heart into a million pieces. What I want is for him to be that energetic, active and great dad who taught me how to ride bicycle and always helped me hide boiled eggs and Ice Cream from my mum, as a child.

As a Fashion Retailer who has spent the last 6 years building a business against the failing Nigerian economy, there’s only so much I can do at this point as dialysis, Scans and Tests have cost us a fortune since we learned about this horrible diagnosis and I can no longer do it alone without losing the means in which I make a living. So I need your help. Whatever little you can donate, I greatly appreciate it.

The cover picture is how I always want to picture my dad; as a happy and loving husband and father. Please, help me share this link if you can as well.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your help. I pray blessings and good health upon you and yours.
