Who We Are
Our robotics team, the Terabytes , is trying to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education within Guatemala. In 2013, through the Auga Viva Children's Home, we established a robotics curriculum to teach middle school students programming and engineering concepts.

Why Guatemala?
Guatemala's school system requires students to choose a trade school after middle school. The students aren't able to be exposed to STEM fields before choosing their career, so most choose a farming-related career path. By introducing the students to STEM before they choose their career, students might consider a path that will help further the community around them.

What Will We Do With Your Contributions?
We plan to return in March of 2015 to introduce phase 2 of the curriculum, expanding the current lessons to include a full-fledged robotics challenge. Using FIRST Lego League  as a model, we plan to teach the students the entire robotics design process, from innovating solutions to programming their machine. Your contribution will help fund materials, travel expenses, and allow us to help this developing country establish its own workforce of civil engineers and computer programmers.
