Hi my name is Kass and I'm fundraising to help Millie, Courtney, Eamon and Evelyn get through this incredibly hard period of their life. I will use Courtneys own words to explain the battle they have in front of them....
The last two weeks have been intense.
Millie’s chemotherapy was pushed back due to her treating team wanting more scans, tests and a biopsy to be certain about what they were dealing with due to her presentation to be particularly unusual.
Today we got the results of those scans and the skull biopsy. Millie has been described as a unicorn.
It has been determined that Millie’s bone lesions aren’t metastatic deposits from the neuroblastoma, but instead are a coexisting second type of cancer disease called Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH). This occurrence of two cancers coexisting has been documented twice in the world.
Good thing about this is the neuroblastoma has been restaged to stage 2 or intermediate risk, which means her odds just got a hell of a lot better. The LCH however is more evolved and is considered as multisystem due to infiltrating her pituitary gland and multibone (due to skull, rib and orbital bone) with an “at risk” lesion because it’s on her orbital bone.
Millie started her first chemotherapy session today. And she sat through it like an absolute trooper. Only a couple of little side effects so far (skin colour is off, fatigued and diarrhea), but she’s still bossing me around like nobodies business.
The plan is to attack the neuroblastoma first and remove it when possible, then focus on the LCH. If everything goes as planned she has a an approximate 18 month battle ahead of her.
Thank you to everyone for your support so far, we cherish every one of you.

While I have only known Courtney a short time, I have how ever been part of her Nursing journey. Knowing what an incredible human, nurse mother and friend she is and how beautiful her little family is, this is an absolute travesty and devastating for everyone.
While Millie faces the fight of her life, Courtney (just starting a new career as a Nurse) and Eamon will obviously be without work, helping Millie and looking after Evelyn.
Any donation, no matter how small will help them ensure Millie gets the treatment she needs and support her incredible parents get through this difficult time.
