Project ZoPo

Since October 2014 my mother, Ruthann, has been making weighted blankets for children with Autism and other special needs. She has provided 20 children with blankets free of charge in that time. If a family were to buy a weighted blanket the cost would range from $60 to $200 depending on who/where you buy it from. A lot of families simply can not afford this, but these blankets can be so beneficial to a child with Autism and/or other sensory needs. We would like to continue to be able to provide blankets to children who need them; however the cost of materials has become too much to be able to provide blankets for free. Recently my mother reluctantly (because she never wanted to) began charging $25 a blanket, which covers the cost of the material and the weighted pellets. However, $25 is still too much for some families, so we would like to raise some funds to be able to buy these materials and make free blankets for those truly in need. The goal is to raise enough money for 20 blankets. Please consider supporting this cause and donating in any amount. Thank you :)
