Yahshi Bakes Classes & Expansion

I need your help to raise $25,000 before the end of July because I want to teach online baking and cooking classes. These classes will support young people to become confident in the kitchen while building an intimate and nourishing relationship with food. The classes will be for-profit; however, I will pay it forward by offering classes to children passionate about cooking and baking based on donations and sponsorships.                                                

It would help if you donated to fund Yahshi Bakes Classes because many children don’t learn about cooking in school, and it’s a fundamental life skill. Cooking incorporates health, wellness, science, math, history, and environmental justice. In these classes, I will share everything that I know about my love for baking, the practicality of cooking, and how the two are intertwined. Students will have an opportunity to work on their time management, communication, and culinary skills.

To bring my vision to life, I need to hire a production team, including videographers, clothing stylists, prop stylists, and additional support. I also need to pay for a studio to film in, equipment, and ingredients. To give you a sense of the pricing, on average, it costs $1,000 per minute to film a video. I will be working with various videographers, and the average package price is $800 per video, discounted to $5,000 per chapter. I am filming in an Airbnb, which costs about $200 per day in addition to the tax, service fees, and ingredients. Each production day will between six and nine hours. We can film a chapter in about seven days. 

The course curriculum that I’ve designed includes over 50 videos and counting, from simple recipes that are essential components for pastries and others that are time-consuming and meticulous. By guiding students through the reasons for each step and explaining the outcome, I will coach them through the trials and tribulations of baking and reward them with the simplicity and freedom of cooking.

The classes will also allow Yahshi Bakes to expand our audience until we are ready to host our series two fundraiser that will sponsor us to have a private commercial kitchen space to fulfill large orders. 

Lastly, I am also working on a top-secret writing project that requires an editor, which costs $75-$200+ per hour. The project will require several hours to edit, and I need your help to produce quality work that I am proud of making. I will share more details with you in due time.
