Healing Maverick
Donation protected
Maverick is a 14 month old Siberian Husky who was hit by a pick-up truck 12/10/2019. He almost bled out but luckily for the quick thinking of his grandpa and the local vet they were able to stabilize him to be immediately transported to South Shore Animal Hospital.
He has a concussion, a laceration on his tongue where he bit completely through, torn tendons, and degloving on both front legs, the left leg being the worse. He has to have daily special bandaging by the vet to prevent infection, help with debridement, and new growth of skin, which is causing the medical bills to pile up fast. There is still the possibility that he may need his left wrist fused we won’t know until what tendons he has left heal.
Maverick is loved by so many. Logan adopted him when Maverick was five months old, there was an instant bond between them. Maverick's human lives across the street from his parents and grandparents. While Logan is at work Maverick visits daily with Logan’s grandparents who adore him. At the time of the accident Maverick was playing with grandpa in the back yard when Maverick heard a truck approaching that sounded like Logan’s truck. Excited that it could be his human coming home he surprisingly darted to the front yard then the road. It was traumatic event to witness for Grandpa and for everyone involved.
Any money raised will be used so Maverick can get the best medical treatment necessary. Thank you for helping Maverick heal, we are very grateful for any donations.
