Golden Chili Dogs Snake Bite Medical Treatment
Donation protected
This is Chili. He's a golden retriever that's known for his silly and fun personality. On Thursday, November 3rd, he was bit by a rattlesnake in his backyard. His mom Gailin rushed him to the hospital immediately after, and he was able to get the antivenin medicine right away. He was doing well enough to be discharged 24 hours later, but then had to be taken back to the hospital that night and it was discovered he has fluid in his lungs. It is now Saturday, November 5th and Chili is currently receiving medication to hopefully help pass the fluid in his lungs, and will receive more tests and continue to be monitored in the hospital.
In addition, Chili will have to see a cardiologist once he's discharged to make sure his heart is okay. Unfortunately although Chili does have pet insurance, they are not covering much of the cost. He has had and is continuing to have lots of extensive tests done around the clock including x rays to check on the fluid in his lungs. This has been extremely hard on Gailin who's still dealing with Chili being in the hospital as well as the medical bills that keep accumulating. Although this is a very tough time, Chili is a very strong boy and we are all praying for him to recover soon!
