More information about Free Columbia:
Free Columbia began in 2009 as a community-supported, community-oriented, cultural and educational initiative in Columbia County, New York, in the post-industrial village of Philmont. Free Columbia has developed workshops, part-time, evening, low residency, and full-time, residential programs for kids, young adults and adults in the fields of social theory, ceramics and practical arts, studio and performing arts, and nature studies. The heart of the initiative is the cultivation of art, aesthetic education, contemplative inquiry, and action research in a spirit of independence and accessibility.
All programs are no paywall which means that any student accented to a course is able to attend without regard to their ability to financially contribute. All tuition is set using a sliding scale and determined in relationship with our students.
